The Canadian Institutes of Health Research is pleased to announce the launch of a Request for Applications (RFA) on Strategies for Knowledge Translation in Health. This RFA calls for one-year research proposals in five areas.

Dr. Friesen has been awarded the Wightman Award by the Gairdner Foundation for "his leadership to Canadian medical research and especially for leading to the establishment of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research".

Dr. Alan Bernstein, President of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research today released a discussion paper, "Human Stem Cell Research: Opportunities for Health and Ethical Perspectives", on proposed guidelines for funding of human embryonic stem cell research in Canada.
