The Henry G. Friesen International Prize in Health Research

The Henry G. Friesen International Prize in Health Research is the joint initiative of Friends of Canadian Institutes of Health Research (FCIHR) and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS). The Prize was established to recognize the vision and distinguished leadership of Dr. Henry G. Friesen, a renowned Canadian endocrinologist and medical scientist, to develop the concept that became the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

July 12, 2006: Internationally renowned Canadian, Dr. Joseph B. Martin, Dean of the Harvard Faculty of Medicine, was named the inaugural winner of The Henry G. Friesen International Prize in Health Research today and will deliver a public lecture scheduled for September 26 at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa.
