The CIHR will hold its first Dinner of Excellence to celebrate Canada's best and brightest health researchers November 20, 2002 at The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto. The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner, the awards ceremony and a dessert buffet and opportunity to congratulate the award winners.

On this special evening, CIHR will announce two new awards: the Michael Smith Prize for Excellence in Health Research and the President's Distinguished Leadership Award, to be bestowed upon a distinguished Canadian who has provided exceptional leadership in support of health research in Canada.
